Calculating total availability Project 2002 Not Server

K

Kay Doggett

I need to calculate the % of Scheduled work/total availability by resource
for a Crystal report so that project managers can run it and see how much of
their resources are scheduled.

In other words, if I am available to work 40 hours a week and I am only
scheduled for 36 hours the I would be 90% utilized. If I was scheduled for 44
hours I would be 110% utilized (over scheduled).

I found where availability is calc'd by multiplying the res_max_units x the
calendar, but I have not been able to find how to calculate the amount of
total time in the calendar from the fields in the MSP tables. Anybody know
how? We are not using Project Server, but we do use the standard MSP tables
in SQL2K. Thank you for your help.

You either need a resource pool, or create a consolidated file and clear the
link option so all resources are consolidated. Then the Resource usage view
can show you resource availability, or total work.
