Calculations in Visio

D

Danny

I'm new to Visio but from the few hours I've spent searching through forums
it would appear that mathematical calculations are possible but only if you
export to a database or spreadsheet.

Is it possible to enter a formula into the Viso drawing that is linked to
various different text fields in the drawing i.e. if I create 5 different
text boxes, each of which have a number value, can I total them?

Cheers

Visio can also evaluate text on shapes, mathematically. As long as the
text is "valid ShapeSheet text", it will work. This means standard,
Excel-like syntax can be evaluated, such as:

4 + 3*Sin(90deg) + 10^2

....which would give us 107.
