Calendar Control 11.0 Issue

G

George

I would like to use the Calendar Control 11.0 in Access 2003 on a form.
However, I do not want to have it bound to a field, I would like to be able
to have the calendar appear with the current date and change the information
in a text field when the user clicks on a date. The problem is that there is
no "On Click" event for the calendar. The help file for this control shows
that there should be quite a few events tied to this control, however all I
am getting is "On Update", "On Enter", "On Exit", "On Got Focus" and "On Lost
Focus". Is this really right or am I missing something?

Hi George,

The ActiveX-based calendar controls are nothing but trouble, especially if
you distribute your application to other people. May I suggest that you try
one of these calendar solutions instead? You can choose whether to include a
control source for the text box (ie. bound vs. unbound):

When I use the calendar control, I have found it helpful to assign a value to
a control you wish to have populated with the Calendar information. When the
date is selected on the calendar control, you click a button on the dedicated
calendar form and depending on the control value, the field is populated with
the calendar control information.
