Your question is a lot like if I asked you "Any idea why my car won't
start?"... in both cases, I'm pretty sure a lot more information would be
needed in to provide an answer.

on 1 PC i can click on the calendar and the date will be shown on the
cell. But on another PC the calendar cannot be clicked

Did the second pc allow macros to run?

Do you have multiple windows open (window|new window, window|arrange) in the
problem version of excel?

I have no way of testing this, but I think it is a relevant question
(hopefully someone will know for sure based on your answer)... are both
computers running the same version of Excel?

And to followup...

Is the calendar control a legal control on each pc?

The calendar control that comes with Office is part of Access. If the offending
pc doesn't have access installed, then maybe that "calendar control" has turned
to a picture for them.
