Calendar date will not change from 1970!!!!

For some reason when I try and use the calendar to set up an appointment or recurring event the date defaults to todays date (Feb. 8th for instance) 1970. I can type in the correct date or go to it using the calendar icon, it will appear in the field for the date and as soon as I try and save it it changes to 1970. I have the correct date and time set on my Macbook Pro

I'm having the same problem.

"The 1970 issue is related to your date format settings. Entourage 2008
doesn't support non standard format well. You may want to change to the
standard format such as "United States" or "United States (computer )" or
"Japanese" that comes with the OS if you don't mind. I tried changing the
short form from 080105 to 08/01/05 and Entourage works well with it."

In essence, don't try to customize the date format in the International
System Preferences Pane.

Hi Diane;
Thanks for your reply. I tried doing what you suggested but it still does not work. I changed my date format to U.S. and saved it. I tried making another appt. in Entourage and still am having the same problem. I can paste the correct date into the field but as soon as I am out of the field it reverts to 1970. Today it's Feb. 12, 1970. Bill Gates birthday maybe?

Try restarting your computer after you make the change to make sure it
stuck.
