Calendar doesn't recongnize Invites to me from others (in Outlook)

I am running Outlook 2002 on one machine with XP. In the past I have
received invites for calendar appointments in my Inbox and always had a menu
that allowed me to accept or reject, etc. Now I get calendar invites from
various people, all running Outlook, and they appear as a simple text in my
inbox with topc and date; they do not have response tabs or menus, and no way
to automatically stick in my calendar. Its like outlook suddenly doesn't know
they are calendar invites.

Funny, when I create a calendar event and invite others, I get the
acceptance emails back--so it seems my Outlook is sending invites OK, not
just receiving them. HOw do I fix?

Many thanks,

For what it's worth, I have had the exact opposite thing happen just
this weekend. Suddenly, calendar entries from our two XP users that
we receive (on Outlook 2000) can't be read -- they are coming through
as text attachements. For the ones that had already arrived, I was
able to save the text file with a vcs extension and then double click
and add them, but that proved to be a bit of a pain. I am trying to
see if something changed server wise.

In the meantime, I found this that pertains to sending

In Outlook 2002/XP, Outlook is set by default to MS Exchange meeting
request/calendar format - iCalendar. To fix this, go to Tools >
Options >
Calendar Options > and UN-check "When sending meeting requests over
the
Internet, use iCalendar format".

I dont' know if it's something that you might want to have the senders
look into,

I am wondering if there was a service pack to Outlook XP that just
came through that caused this. One other possiblity that I was
directed to was an antivirus scanner, but I don't think that's the
cause on at least one of the affected machines. It seems to be an
Outlook thing,

Hope this might have been of some help!

I am running Outlook 2007on Exchange and face both issues:

1. When receiving Outlook invite, it appeared as simple text in my Inbox
with topic and date on the message content.
2. When sending Outlook invite, it appeared to the recipient as attachment,
which they cannot accept the invite into their calendar.

Appreciate some guidance on the setup I need to update on my Outlook 2007.

Cheers,
Choon Lye,
Singapore.
