Calendar email notification

I am on Outlook 2002, some of the participants on
meetings are on another calendar system. The
invitation/email sent does not include text details of
the meeting for those who are not on Outlook. An
attachment called "meeting.ics" is sent but can not be
opened. How can I get the email notification/invitation
to include text details for non Outlook users?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Drag the meeting to the Inbox to create an email message with the details in the text of the message.
