Calendar event not added

I'm creating an application that sends out emails with a vCalendar body. When Entourage receives these and I am not the organizer of the event, I can accept the event and it ends up in my calendar. Coolness.

If I am the organizer I'm getting confused. It seems to recognize it just fine as a calendar event, but it only sometimes adds the item to my calendar. I am wondering if there is a fault in the vCalendar text, or if entourage applies certain rules to adding events where the sender of the email is the same person as the receiver?

In the cases where it "doesn't add the item to your calendar", do you see the 'accept/tentative/decline' buttons in the meeting request?

Also, are you on Entourage 2004?
