Calendar Export from entourage

I have attempted to create a back-up of my Entourage calendar as a result of
difficulties I¹ve suddenly been having with synchronizing with my palm
pilot. The last time I synced my palm pilot, the majority of the date book
information was erased, and the dates that had the schedule were incomplete.
My Palm pilot has been giving me trouble for a while, so I thought it was
the handheld. So I bit the bullet and bought a new handheld.

Not wanting to loose my calendar data incase I missed a step in setting up
the net handheld I elected to export the calendar date.

Using the Export function under File in the menu bar, I have attempted to
export my calendar. The export will begin, but will suddenly terminate with
the following message:

³Entourage sis not export all of your data.
You stopped the export process before it was complete. ³

Of course I did not stop the process, it shut down on it¹s own.

I am, however, able to export my email, contacts, notes and tasks.

I would appreciate a resolution to this matter. Without the palm pilot I¹m
lost in my day to day work.

Ouch... How much data do you have in there ??

It could be a database corruption. You could try rebuilding your
database (press alt as you launch ENtourage to get to the utility -
Exchange accounts will have to resync with the server and categories
will be lost).

As Corentin says, database rebuild should fix it but categories will be lost
from Exchange calendars. (However, Entourage's "export" also loses
categories anyway.)

Another way to export is using my Export-Import Entourage scripts. They
should work even with a corrupt database (although I suppose there must be
circumstances where the degree of corruption might limit the export too.)
And they preserve categories. You can get them at

Thank you, this worked very well.

I guess I'll be checking/rebuilding the Entourage Database every so often.

I'm glad it corrected the problem,

Trevor, I have the same problem. So I tried to separately export mail,
tasks, contacts, calendar and notes--as opposed to exporting
everything. It choked on Tasks. So there's something in my tasks that
is corrupt. It could be the shared projects. I don't know. At least I
could Export mail and calendar stuff.
