Calendar holidays for 2008

I have added holidays to my calendar, but none of them are showing for 2008.
I am using Outlook 2003 SP2. When I try to add them again, they just show up
twice, but still nothing shows up for 2008.

I was having this same issue and your solution worked like a champ! Thanks,

I am having the same issue and can not seem to fix it. I tried uninstalling
the update and reinstalling the update, from the link provided by "Roady
[MVP]", and the holidays for 2008 forward still do not show up in my Outlook
2003 calendar (I am running SP2 as Microsoft instructs).

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Sue

I went to the site Roady MVP suggested, and still have problems. I run the
..EXE, accept the EULA, and get this error message: "The expected version of
the product was not found on your system," and the .EXE stops. (Perhaps due
to my having the Academic version of Office 2003??) Microsoft directed me to
this forum for help....

Thanks!!

Hi Crobbinsuf,

I'm having exactly the same problem as you. I'm running a bona fide Outlook
2003 install, not even academic edition or anything like that (not that it
should make a difference) and am getting the expected version error.

Did you get anywhere in resolving this?

Cheers,

Spicer

Don't use the EXE then. Get the holiday file itself from

Hi Spicer,
I think I tried the link Brian Tillman suggested, and was
unsuccessful with it too.

A friend (not related to Microsoft or this forum) emailed me the
following link, which worked like a charm. Maybe it'll work for you:
http://www.outlook-tips.net/files/OUTLOOK2012.HOL

You didn't read the page I cited very well, then, because it contains a link
to a copy of the very file whose URL you name above.

Hi All,

We have a Danish version of Office 2003 Std and Pro on which we have
installed Office SP3. But running office2003-KB924423-FullFile-DAN.exe also
gives us the "The expected version of the product was not found on your
system," and the .EXE stops.

I realize that the mentioned HOL-file from Outlook-tips.net will actually
implement the holidays for us, BUT they will all show up in the calendar in
English - which the majority of my 5000 users, will not accept :-(

So - what would be really nice was, if someone actually have a solution for
this problem, as I understand it is not a uncommon problem to face.

So, use Notepad to edit that file and change the holiday names to use the
language you want.

Thanx - I obviously failed to see, the HOL-fil is just an editable textfile.

Cheers,
Henrik :)

So, use Notepad to edit that file and change the holiday names to use the
language you want.

There is a Microsoft article that explains the syntax of the holidays
text file. Search for outlook.hol and you will find it.
It is really simple.
You can create your own company.hol if you want.
