We have the need to share calendars from Outlook and another Enterprise
application. The business case is that whenever an appointment (of a certain
type) is created in Outlook for a specific kind of user that the appointment
is also duplicated in another business application. The converse is true
that whenever a booking is created for a specific user in our business
application that a corresponding appointment be created in Outlook for that
user to indicate he/she is busy. The interface to the business application
is all xml based.
At the point I'm not even sure where to start. I would like the interface
be at the exchange level but would also consider Outlook too. Since not all
appointments are to be synchronized but only those where the user indicates
I'm leaning towards having an outlook form help here. Any guidance would be
greatly appreciated. At this point I'm looking for approach alternatives and
level of effort.
