Calendar invitation received as plain text

I have Outlook 2002. When trying to send a calendar invitation to
someone using Outlook 2000, the invitation is received as plain text.
When I doubleclick on the recipient's email address in the invitation,
the format is "Send using Outlook Rich Text Format." Is there
something else I am missing?
