Calendar item directly into tasks

Is there a way to have a calendar item automatically post something to the
Task Pad? For example, if I put a birthday (recurring) in the calendar, is
there a way for that calendar item to post a task (such as "send a card") to
the task pad automatically?

There's no built-in feature to do that, but it's within the wide range of
enhancements you can make with Outlook VBA programming.
