Calendar jumps from Sept 2007 to Oct. 2008

I am a newbie to Project2003 and am working on my first project. I just
noticed that in the Gantt Chart (the line part of it) and in the Calendar
view the project jumps from Sept. 2007 to Oct. 2008, and after Dec. 2008,
Jan. 2008 is the next month.

The dates associated with the tasks in the Gantt Chart are all correct and
include Oct, Nov, and Dec. 2007 dates. The task start and end dates show
2007 (in the task information) even though the calendar shows 2008?

Did I change a setting inadvertently or is this a bug?

Thanks,
Astrid

Astrid,
It sounds like you may have messed up the timescale. Go to
Format/Timescale and insure that the tier showing the year has a "count"
of 1. My guess is that it is set for 2. While you're at it, make sure
the tier that shows the month is also set for a "count" of 1.

By the way, if you don't have update SP2 installed, be sure to do so.
You can download it from the Microsoft website. There is also a SP3
update which you can install.

Hope this helps.

Hello Astrid,

Check your fiscal year settings on the Calendar tab of the Tools >
Options dialog box. My guess is you have set your fiscal year to
start in October. Set it back to default (Start in January) and you
should be all set.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
