Calendar locks up

I just updated Office from 2000 to 2002 and most things
are working fine.
All other features of Outlook are working fine, but when
I try to add an event or change an existing event I just
get the hour glass and it never returns. I have to kill
the process.

Any idea if there is some hidden switch to disable using
the calendar? What can I try?
