Calendar shows event spread across 2 days because something reset the time range across the midnight barrier. Can I reset the time range globally across the entire calendar to midnight to midnight, without doing this date by date? Maybe a set back to default time range?

You can change the Time Zone back to what it was here: Tools > Options >
Calendar Options > Time Zone.
