Has a good calendar reminder been developed for Onenote? Thank you for any
direction here.

No, there is no such thing in/for OneNote.
Ana "active" calendar with reminders is a thing of Outlook.

Yes, I am looking for a quick way to type a word or sentence reminder on a
calendar date that can readily be seen, edited or erased on some sort of
calendar in Onenote. I can already do this in Outlook ... which generally
allows you to see only a few words in the monthly view. So am looking for
something different

Sorry, I do not understand what you want to have :-( :-(

What do you mean by "reminder"?

There are a few calendar templates and powertoys available, e.g.

I'm sorry but that link is a dead end.

I don't know how to be clearer.

A reminder is just that ... Like a sentence that says "See dentist today at
1pm" that is written on a specific date in a calendar.
