Calendar save as web page w/background graphic

Joseph Bush

Hi.

I haven't been able to resolve this problem: When saving a calendar as a web
page, checking 'Use background graphic' then clicking 'Choose', all picture
files are grayed out in the selection dialog (jpg, jpeg, tiff, gif, etc.).
I'm saving a month view (current month) with landscape orientation.

I'm using 2004, version 11.3.6, but the problem has been there since I
installed Office 2004.

Since I haven't found any reference to this problem elsewhere, it must be
something I'm not doing right.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks.

Joe.

Hi Joe!

I never knew this feature existed! I'm trying to think of interesting
uses for it now.

I can't tell you why your existing graphics files aren't working. I was
able to reproduce the problem on my laptop too, so this isn't something
you're doing wrong or have configured incorrectly. However, if I re-save
a file using GraphicConverter (saving from JPG to JPG) then I am able to
select the new file as the background picture. This will probably work
for you as well.

Hope this helps!

Same here. I have some JPGs I once edited in Graphic Converter, and I can
select these, but not others which haven't been opened I GC. Bug?

Hi Guys!

Thanks for the replies! Glad to know I haven't got something wrong with my
setup. Unfortunately, I don't have GraphicConverter. I went to their
website, and I'll probably purchase the software.

It looks like this feature mimics Word's Watermark option, though my Office
2004 for Mac 'Missing Manual' warns against using images that are too dark,
so maybe that's not so. Interestingly. I can't select anything from Office's
Clip Art or photo galleries, either.

Anyway, I used Word's Watermark option to print a blank page with a faded
watermark, then printed my calendar over it. Came out pretty good. Maybe
that's a workaround until this issue is resolved.

Thanks again for your help!

Joe.

I should elaborate on this as my reply is confusing. What I was after was a
means of printing out a calendar with a watermark style graphic behind it.
My idea is to have the background 'watermark' reflect the month of calendar,
such as autumn leaves in October, a sports team logo in August. That sort of
thing.
