Calendar sharing in Outlook 2002

E

Eric Woodhouse

I'm working with some users who have been using Outlook
2000's "net folders" feature to share a calendar (IMO
mode, no Exchange server present), and want to migrate
them to Office XP and thus Outlook 2002. I can't find
any mention of this feature in Outlook 2002, but I also
can't find any official word that it's been removed.
Anybody know anything about this?

One non-exchange solution I may soon evaluate (as it is getting harder to
get copies of Outlook 2000 in order to use net folders on new machines ) is
the Groupware add-in for Mdaemon pro mail server (www.zensoftware.co.uk). I
have had this mail server and add-on recommended by quite a few people who
say it is similar to Exchange in folder sharing, but is way way cheaper and
easier to maintain, also can cheaply get anti-virus and spam filters for it
as well. Also runs perfectly well on an XP Pro machine, keeping the mail
server off the main file server.

If anyone else has tried/used this I would be most interested in any
comments, as our Linux POP3 mail server and usage of Net Folders is really
coming to the end of their useful life.
