Calendar subfolders

I've noticed when I export my Calendar (only) as a personal .pst file,
it's about 18Mb, but if I tick Include Subfolders it's about 22Mb. Not
having intentionally created any subfolders, what would this extra 4Mb
of data be? Are Calendar subfolders necessary things like recurring
appointment rules, or what?
