Calendar view issue

I am trying to create a custom calendar view that shows the events scheduled
for the next ten days.

So naturally, for the view I specify 'date greater than or equal to 0 days
from now' as well as 'date less than or equal to 10 days from now'.

The resulting list, however, includes ALL recurring events in my calendar.

Adding criterion 'recurrence is none' removes them, but then, of course, I
lose birthdays and the like that fall within the next ten days.

Anyone know how to include recurring events from a specific date range?
