Calendar Wizard

I hope someone can help me. I am having problems with the Calendar Wizard. I can get into the Wizard fine and I am able to bring up a calendar; however when I try to type the information next to the calendar date my computer start freezing up. I am using Windows 2000 and Office XP. I have attempted to uninstall and reinstall Word however the problem continues to exist. Does anyone know what this wrong
