calendar won't run

When I updated from Office 97 to Office 2003 and then tried to access the
calendar, the following message appeared. "Works cannot access one or more
files to run calendar. The file has either been renamed, deleted or moved.
Try to reinstall works and try again."
I don't know how to reinstall "works" only, so I tried reinstalling Office
2003, and the same message appeared. Now i don't have any calendar at all.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, Tarpon man asked:
