Calendars Deleted

Diane Walker

We are running Exchange 2000, Entourage, ver. 11.3.6 on Mac OS/X, ver.
10.4.10. We have a calendar that we all share. Several users have an
Author permission. Only one person has the Owner permission. For some
reasons, all the appointments on the calendar disappear. The users do not
synch the calendar to the Palm. Please let me know if you need additional
information.

Thank you.

Hi Diane!

This could be caused by multiple things. The folks with Author
permissions are able to read everything but only edit/delete their own
items. If everything is getting deleted then check the person who has
Owner permission.

Better yet, set the Owner to an account who is not a user of the
calendar such as an administrator. Change the Owner to Publishing
Editor, Editor or even Author himself.

If items continue to disappear then the problem is most likely
server-side or something else.

Hope this helps!

Thanks very much for your suggestions. If items continue to disappear, do
you have any suggestions on how to fix the issue?

Thanks.

Enable auditing in Exchange and audit the top level folder for any
changes. I'd hope that would give you a place to start. I'm not an
Exchange admin so I'll point you here to get started
<http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Importance-Auditing-Exchange-2003-Servers.html>.

If/when you discover the problem, please be sure to post back with
details and how you resolved it.
