Hi Melissa -
I don't know that you can make the "same" calendar on a Mac because the
template you were using was probably specific to Publisher. There is no
version of that program for Macintosh.
However, you may be able to find something that works just as well for the
purpose - maybe better. Three sources to start wit:
1- In Word go to File> Project Gallery - New tab & have a look around there,
especially the Students-Teachers group for Planners,
2- Go to the Mactopia site for other templates:

3- Check the main MS site for even more. Most of the PC templates for Word &
Excel will work with the Mac versions as well. Just make sure you select one
for either of those programs *and* that it is designed for 2003 or prior:

Actually a 4th option as well - Calendars are basically nothing more than
prettied-up tables, so you could design your own & save as a template
