hi, i was wondering if i could use outlook and make a
phonr call thru a bluetooth phone ? This will not be a
network connection but an actual phone call. I have a
tablet pc and have ordering an blue tooth card for it. I
would need a blue tooth phone still . my other blue tooth
uses are my mouse and keyboard.

thanks,

ps , if you want to also cc me at my normal email that
would be great since I may have trouble getting back to
this newsgroup.

I never heard of such a thing, but I suppose anything is possible.
Search (Google?) for software that can run on your PC that drives a
Bluetooth phone. How it would interact with Outlook would presumably be
that Outlook sees it as a phone. Surely possible, I guess, but whether
or not anyone has done it is another matter.

More significantly, there has recently been some news in the press of
security issues with Bluetooth phones where "bad guys" can capture and
use, including stealing phone time and data on the device, from
Bluetooth-enabled phones without the owners's permission. Beware.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

if you can select it as a modem in Outlook's dialer, you can use it to make
calls.

I am able to select it as a modem, and it will send the number to the phone and dial. Unfortantly, it either gives me a fast busy or just hangs up. I just want to get the number to the phone since I have thousands of contacts in Outlook and only hunderds fit in the phone (with no decent search capabilitites). It may be a network probelm since ATT doesn't support DUN calling. Is there a way to just send the number (like a scrach pad) and I press dial on the phone? Other ways?
