camtasia for pp

Hello
Have posted many times, so hopefully not bothering you. I
have purchased camtasia to record pp to burn to dvd. I
have followed the tutorial from awesome powerpoint. My
problem is that i record the screen my resolution is 800 x
600, i produce it at same resolution, my presentation i
view in current resolution(not sure what that means)
should i be changing resolution to something else in show
setup. My reasoning is that on some dvd players the words
in presentation can be viewed and in others the words can
not be seen, they are off the screen. I have posted to
camtasia but doesn't seem to help with their suggestions.
I am running powerpoint 2002 xp, nvida geforce fx ultra
5900, pentium 4 384 mb ram. i have turned off acceleration
hardware. another question to have this burned to dvd is
avi the proper format for powerpoint.

One tip is that when designing for display on television screens, leave a
margin of unused space on all four sides of each slide. This is for the
very thing that you have observed. This will allow for the cropping that
occurs. Also use strong dark colors for backgrounds, etc., avoiding reds.
Text should be in large sized sans serif font, preferably bold, and in a
color that contrasts strongly with the background. Also, if you have drawn
lines or autoshapes, make the lines thick and solid. Otherwise they will be
wavy and not display well.

Ideally, before you finalize your presentation, if you have an S-Video out
port on your video card, you can connect your PC to a TV or a VCR and
display your presentation on a TV. This helps to get a good idea in advance
what it will look like when captured to a video file and burned to a DVD.
The tutorial at

seeing how this connection can be set up.

Nola,

What Sonia said....but also..
In powerpoint 2002 you can set up the show to display at "current
resolution". What this does is show the presentation at your current windows
desktop resolution (start.settings.control panel.display.settings.). If your
desktop is set to 800x600 then that's what powerpoint will show the
presentation as. If your desktop is set to 1024x768 then powerpoint will
show the pres at 1024x768.

You can, however, set powerpoint 2002 to overide your desktop settings...and
choose any other resolution from it's list (slideshow.set-up show)
This could be, as Sonia has said....your information is too near the screen.
TV's use "overscan" that makes the image go off the edge of the screen. So
keep your info away from the edges in powerpoint. It could also be a TV
setting...e.g. widescreen or 16:9 proportions.
another question to have this burned to dvd is
AVI is the only format camtasia will capture in. It's up to your DVD burning
software to convert this AVI to a format DVD and SVCDs like. e.g. MPEG
