Can’t upgrade to version 12.1

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Power PC

In the setup assistant, after entering the serial no. It shows that I cannot upgrade on the hard drive my version 12.0 is installed. I have no way of getting beyond the install from the original install disk. I just purchased 6 copies of Mac Office 2008 from MacMall and cannot get the first installation and upgrade to take!

I need to get to the current version 12.1.1!

Help!!

Just to be clear, in the Setup Assistant after you enter the serial you
don't immediately get to the upgrade part.
