Can a button have submit and rule functionality?

Hi!

Can an Infopath button support both the "Submit" and "Rules and Custom Code"
actions or do I have to choose one or the other? Due to time constraints, I
would like to be able to use the minimal functionality provided by the wizard
to submit the form after checking to see that the mandatory fields are not
blank. Please let me know if this is possible or if I will need to dive into
custom code to make both happen. Thanks!

mate,

select that particular control right click ->properties->validation
and rules-> Check "Cannot be blank"
