Hi,

I have Access 2002 on xp pro running.

Is there anyway i can get my access program to run on the tablet pc
operating system, and also use the pen to write data into the access
fields ?

maybe even convert the handwriting into standard fonts somehow ?

I am in sales and want to travel to customers on the fly and when
i interview them i want to write in the data, such as name, and
what they need, and other data such as the phone numbers etc
into the different fields in access that i have set up., but the catch
is that i don't want to have to type this up since i will be standing
while i interview the different customers, kind of like a survey.

right now i use a clipboard to take down the info, will it work in
access somehow and will it be cumbersome ?

Thanks.

Handwriting is a graphic which under most circumstances can be converted to
text. As far as I understand, you cannot directly enter data into a field
using handwriting. You have several alternatives which will work:

1. Voice recognition software: I use Dragon Naturally Speaking 7 to enter
data in Access 2002 on a desktop machine, and Access 2003 on a laptop. I use
the Preferred professional version and it work beautifully.

2. LogiTech IO pen which is a pen/scan device which stores up to 40 pages of
text which can then be uploaded into a PC and used for data entry.

Of the 2, I prefer the first.
