Can anyone explain how OL formats incoming text email messages?

I give up!

I am sending email messages with NO newline characters, but the displayed
messages break at what I would consider "unusual" places.

I have another email that I am sending that has two lines as follows:

short_line(cr/lf)
-------------------------------------------------------(cr/lf)

and this combo comes out:

short_line-----------------------------------------------(cr/lf)

I have checked and I AM sending the (cr/lf) after the "short_line" but OL
seems to be ignoring it...or not seeing it.

Any education in how OL formats incoming text messages would be appreciated!
