Can anyone tell me why my Guest Book is screwed up?

Hi all,

I've been trying to figure out why the Guest Book I have seems to be
screwed up. I've searched the MS knowledge base up and down with no
results.

Whenever the Guest Book gets too many entries, the form appears twice.
The only way to rememdy this is to remove entries from the Guest Book.
I've tried creating a new guest book, but the same thing happens as
soon as the entries are inserted. It seems as if the Guest Book has a
size restriction or a restriction on the number of entries.

Go to www.sayatnova.com, scroll to the bottom and click on the
GuestBook and you'll see what I mean. I'll leave the Guest Book this
way so you all can have a look at it.

I really want to get this fixed *without* having to remove entries
from the Guest Book.

I'm using FrontPage 2003 and Windows XP SP-2. The Guest Book is the
standard book that comes with FrontPage.

Thanks,

Viken

Can't explain it - perhaps a server extension problem - ask your host/provider.

I tried a test post in both forms, and both posts showed up (so both forms do
function),

If you view the page in Frontpage, does the form show up twice in design-view?
If so, then remove one verison of the form and republish the file (or edit it
live and remove one instance of the form) and see if that makes a difference,
leaving all entries as they are.

Thanks for your reply. In Frontpage, the form does NOT show up twice,
but it does on the server. I haven't thought about changing it on the
sctual server though, that's a good idea. I'll give it a shot.

Hi,

I opened up Frontpage and opened up the guest book file directly on
the server. When I opened it up, it showed only ONE copy of the input
form. When I view it in IE, it shows TWO copies. This is wierd....

The guestbook uses an include page
There are some bugs in FP2002 & in the FP2002 SE related to shared borders & include pages
so make sure you (and your host) see & apply all appropriate patches from:

For info in Service Pack 1 & 2 for FP2002 / MSO XP - see:

For the Host/Server running the FP2002 SE

For Unix server problems on the FP2002 SE see

The latest FP SE for Unix that fix the problems
(FPSE 2000 1.4 patch and an FPSE 2002 SR 1.1 patch)
