Can BCM be installed and run from a USB Thumbdrive?

Running BCM at home PC and on corp. issued laptop. Need to keep my BCM
contacts and info off of the corp. laptop(as BCM info is my asset),
therefore, wondering if I can run BCM directly from a 1G USB Mem
stick(thumbdrive). Can it be done?
....have done this with Goldmine this last week, just not real excited about
the program.

Obviously, you have to back up often when using a USB drive, ....really hope
someone knows if this can be accomplished. Home OS is XP Home, laptop at
work is XP Pro. Drive letters are the same on both computers.

I suspect the only way to do that seamlessly would be if the thumbdrive
has the C:\Documents and Settings\red_dog folder, because that's where
the bcm db file is kept.

Luther,....could you explain a little.
Is there a place to change the settings where Outlook points to the target
file? Is that what you're getting at?

I believe that with Outlook you can point it to a PST file anywhere on
the file system.

On the other hand, BCM appears to have hardcoded their database
location to a particular folder, under the Windows user's folder; under
C:\Documents and Settings\Luther in my case. Unless you convince
Windows to move the C:\Documents and Settings folder to your thumb
drive, I don't think there's anyway to change the location of the BCM
database file.

I also suspect sqlserver won't allow a database to reside on a
removable drive.

I guess that the real issue is the sql server,...as I have found if the
database software (ie. BCM or ACT) uses SQL, then it will not allow for data
