Can computers which only have MS 2000 software accept files of MS 2003
software?

My school only has MS Office 2000 and I want to receive files to and from
the school computers. I don't have MS Office on my home computer so I have
purchased a Microsoft Office - Student and Teacher Edition 2003 for£130 and i
was wondering if it was a good price.

If £130 wasn't a good price and if MS Office 2000 DOES accept files from MS
Office 2003, please can anyone recommend me some better places/websites to
purchase MS Office 2003.

If MS Office 2000 DOESN'T accept files from MS Office 2003, please can
anyone recommend me some places/websites to pruchas MS Office 2000.

Your advice will be very much appreciated. Thankyou!

Word 2003 should be able to read Word 2000 files.. when generating files in
Word 2003, use the 'save as' function and select '97-2003 ..... ' option..

I just did a check with xe.com and your £130 is my $239. I can get STE here
in the US for about $130 (£71). HOWEVER....... just because that's the
converted rate doesn't mean you will pay the same. I always suggest checking
Amazon.com for the best prices I've seen for software.

To answer your other questions, I had no problem going back and for with
Word or Excel 2000 and Word or Excel 2003. HOWEVER...I didn't use anything
"fancy" that would have been a new feature in those programs. Anytime you
are using an older version of a software program, you run the risk of losing
something.

As for buying Office 2000, the only place left to find it would be eBay.
HOWEVER... I never recommend anyone do that. Too many chances to get burned
doing that.

(My personal advice would be to stick with what you have.)

$130 converts to £130 when buying software in the UK you'd be even more
horrified by Adobe conversion rates
