Can customised templates be placed on specific new document tabs?

In earlier versions of MS Office it was possible to save customised templates
on to the relevant page (e.g. memo templates on the Memos tab, report
templates on the Reports tab). This was very convenient when using the File
New command or button. I can't work out how to do this in Office 2000 or in
Office 2003 - it looks as though all the templates supplied are in the same
folder (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033) whereas they used
to be in separate sub-folders.

Yes, you can still place your templates on the standard folders.
However, you need to create the folder and then insert the
template inside. The location for placing a template in the
Legal Pleadings tab on an office 2003 machine running Windows XP
is:
C:\Documents and Settings\[yourname]\Application
Data\Microsoft\Templates\Legal Pleadings

I hope that helps.
