Can hyperlinks open in Firefox?

ngaimoko

Hello,

I use Firefox as my web browser, and am wondering if there is a way of
making my OneNote hyperlinks automatically open in Firefox as the default,
instead of Internet Explorer.

Come to think of it, I have the same problem in Excel and Word, so if there
is a general way to configure this for all of Office, that would be ideal.

Thanks!

You have to set FireFix as your *DEFAULT* browser.

Just out of curiosity, what is your reason for wanting to use Firefox
as your default browser? If you do, you lose the ability that IE
provides for sending web content into your OneNote notebook. That is,
unless someone's come up with a Firefox extension that I don't know
about -- one that WORKS, that is.

This add-on exists. And it works!

Thanks, I'll go look on the Mozilla website and pick it up.

PS: Now, if someone were to come up with one that works in Google
Chrome, I'd be all set! :)

BTW, I forgot to mention when I asked that question that I am using FF
3.6, and some extensions written for earlier apps don't always work in
the newer releases. I should have been more specific when I asked. I
knew about the OneNote extension for the earlier versions but should
have asked if that one or any others existed that supported the latest
release.

It's moot, of course, because it does, but I should have been clearer
in my initial post.

Now, if someone would just write one for Google Chrome, my life would
be complete! Presently I have to use Evernote as a conduit for
clipping from Chrome:

- Clip from Chrome into Evernote
- Open the Evernote app
- Forward the Evernote item via email
- Get the email in Outlook
- Move the item over to OneNote from Outlook

I know, I could do that manually by just Copying the stuff from Chrome
to the clipboard and pasting it to OneNote, but sometimes that's just
inconvenient. Also, the Chrome add-in copies to the online version of
Evernote, so if I'm using another computer in the house (that doesn't
have my OneNote database on it) I can send the info to Evernote from
there.

There are three Chrome extensions I use on a regular basis: Roboform,
Evernote and Xmarks. FYI.
