I have to print a multi page workbook, and would like to add a border to the footer so it separates the footer from the rest of the text on the page, and adds the appropriate page #. Is this possible in Excel 2004? I can't seem to find a way to format the border at all - ie. change font colour, add a border, etc. Can anyone help?

It is not possible to put a border on the footer. Why not put a border on
the cells that are to be at the bottom of the page?

Hi,

Although you can't put a border around a footer or header, you can fake
it easily enough.

On a regular worksheet make a textbox and format it the way you want it
to look in the footer. Right click on the text box and choose to save it
as a picture.

Then, use View > Header and Footer. Click Custom footer and click the
insert picture button.

This lets you put the picture with that has a border around it into the
footer. It's a picture, not text, but no one but you will know the
difference.

Thanks Jim. That's a great idea, I'll give it a try.

Cheers,
W.
