Can I apply a theme without changing the colors of my drawings?

When I apply a theme in PowerPoint, it changes the color of my drawings. Is
there a way to apply a theme that can change text and bullets and stuff, but
leave the color of figures as they are?

Themes are document-wide (or presentation-wide - but this is a Word group).
You can apply colours, fonts, and 'effects' independently but if you change
the colour scheme, say, it affects everything that uses theme colours -
text, graphics, whatever. If you want to be more selective in the changes
you apply, take a look at Quick Styles instead.
