Can I apply conditional formatting to text?

F

fazlici

Hello,
I am trying to apply different format (e.g. colour, font) to all the
cells that contain certain text. For example, I would like all the
cells containing text "Do Not Use" to be detected by Excell and
formated in colour.
Is this possible?
Thank you very much,
Jas

Hi

Have a look to Format / Conditional Formatting. With this you can set cell
formats dependent on text, numbers, values , formulas etc.

Hi fazlici!

Select the cells that will have this conditional format
Format > Conditional Format
In second drop down select "Equal to"
In the third drop down put ="Do not use"
Press Format
Pattern tab
Select the color
OK
OK

Don't forget that if you want to extend this conditional format to
other cells you can use the format painter.
