Can I assign a task in Outlook and auto track it in Project 2003?

I would to assign task to workers electronically using Office and then have
those tasks become part of a project plan in Project 2003. When the tasks are
updated from the worker, I would like outlook and project to be linked or
syncronized so that project automatically updates the project plan to the
latest information. Can this be done using any of the Microsoft tools?

No. You can't use Outlook to do any resource assigning. You can use it to
update the progress of tasks however. Anything scheduling related has to be
done in Project.
