Can I change default table border?

I create lots of tables & always make table borders grey instead of
black -- a 4 click operation each time.

Can I change the default color for table borders?

Hi brae,

Here's how I would do it.

1. Create a table and format it the way you like.

2. Select the table (and only the table).

3. Go to Tools> AutoCorrect> AutoCorrect.

4. Choose an easily remembered shortcut for your table (that is not likely
to contain a combination of characters used commonly elsewhere, such as
"mtbl" for "my table") and type it in the "Replace" pane. The "With" pane
will already be filled in with your table formatting.

5. Click Add and then OK. (Don't forget to click Add first. I do that
sometimes.)

From now on, whenever you type mtbl, AutoCorrect will kick in and replace
the shortcut with your formatted table.

You can also do this using the AutoText tab. The difference is that when
you start to type mtbl, you'll get a yellow tooltip and you then can decide
whether or not to hit Return to insert the table or keep typing and not
insert it. You must check "Show AutoComplete tip..." for this to work. I
prefer using AutoCorrect to AutoText myself. It's automatic and I don't
have to see all those distracting yellow tooltips.

Choose Styles from the Format menu. Select the style Table Grid an click
on the Modify button. Change the Borders and Shading from the popup menu.

You can make it happen for new documents by adding the style to the
Normal template by using the Organiser button in the Styles window.
