Can I close a project to release its resources??

Dear All

My questions might be little bit conceptual but I guess it is important for
me and the others in this group to know about it

Now my question is
How can I close a project to free (release) its resources to be available
for other projects, here we have two cases
- Completed project (all of the tasks are done)
- Ongoing project (some tasks are not started yet even)

I am aware of one solution which is to set the remaining work to zero for
all tasks, but I am looking for more direct one

Project Task assignments do not determine availability only demand.
Comparing demand against capacity is easily done in Data Analysis
reports, and project plans can be filtered to support whatever
amalysis you want to do.

hi Mike

thanx for your help, but I have small confusion, would you please illustrate
the difference between availability, deman, capaciy? and where are they used?

Demand is the aggregation of resource assignments, and Project Server
will look across all projects to do this aggregation.
You will see a number of terms - Capacity, Base Capacity,
Availability, and Remaining Availability, but in simple terms Capacity
= Max Units x Hours per day x days in period for each resource.
Remaining availability is the difference between Capacity and Demand.
Clearly this could be a negative number. The Resource Availability
view in PWA demonstrates these concepts, and its intent is to support
resource management/assignment process.
