Can I configure Outlook folders such that they can hold both Messages and Notes?

Currently every time I drag a Note to an Outlook folder it creates a new
Message with the content of the Note inserted. I would like to be able to
have both Messages and Notes in the same folder. Is this possible? If so
how?

No, that's not possible, except in the Deleted Items folder.

Not possible, but you can have a subfolder of a mail folder that contains
notes, if that helps.
