Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) I guess the
subject line says it all.
Thanks.
a return receipt (Dispotion Notification Request - DNR) can be
_requested_ by adding a header line in the advanced account options.
However, very few email clients honour them, and even where the client
can, they are often set up to ignore them, so the system is very
unreliable, except within a tightly controlled Microsoft Exchange
environment.
If you want to try it, see details of how to do it here:

Like most MVPs, I am responding to your query through the public
newsgroup channel (NNTP). Microsoft is planning to close the public
newsgroups which would effectively disable this channel and may affect
the number of answers that are given. Please post any concerns you have
about these plans in this newsgroup so we can forward them on to
Microsoft.
