Can I convert AutoCAD 2000 dwg's to Visio?

I have dwg files that were created with AutoCAD 2000. When I try to insert
them into Visio it gives me the following error. "Cannot open file. The file
may not be a DWG or DXF file, it may not be in a suppoerted version of the
DWG file format, or it may be corrupted. Check the file and try again." I
need to know what DWG file formats are supported and what ones are not.
