yes, as long as it's a mail folder. What happens when you try?

Thanks Diane,

I am tring to make a sub folder under a project number and archieve sent &
received emails. When I copy them (Drag/Drop) the 'Date Received' changes to
a 'Date Modifiy', in which case I have to re name the file with the date or
open it to see the 'date received'. Anotherwords if I copy 20 emails into an
archieve folder the all display the same date and I have to go in and change
eash for easy referencing....very time consuming.

Any direction would be appriciated, can I make a mail folder outside Outlook??

Is this folder a windows folder or an outlook folder? The file date on the
hard drive will always be the copied date - that's the date windows first
learns of the file. there are some 3rd part utilities that can add the date
to the file name - http://www.slipstick.com/addins/housekeeping.htm. when I
needed this, I used exlife but I don't know if the replacement for it has
the same features.

If this is an Outlook folder, use Field Chooser to remove the "Modified"
header and add the "Received" header to the View.
