Can I create a report of all vacation days for all resource in thepool?

TH

Hi,
I'd like to create a report or excel dump of the vacation days for all
resources in the pool. Is it possible to create such report either
from PWA or Office Project 2007client?

TH,
Unless you have your resources report their vacation time in a separate
administrative project, it is not possible. I.e. if you track vacation time
via timesheets and the plan administrative time feature, there's no way to
extract a table containing all your resources's vacation days.
I'd love someone to contradict me, but I don't see that happening ;-).

Regards,
Peter

That is not 100 accurate Peter, you are talking about Project Server 2003
where your statement is accurate but TH is talking about 2007.

TH you have 2 timehseet cubes in Project Server 2007 which profide this
information using the Data Analyser. Try them out and you will see that it is
fairly easy to get this data. Also please note htat this information is
maintained in the reporting database of Proejct Server allowing you to create
your own custom reports using reporting services, Report builder or similar
SQL reporting tools.
Hope this helps

Thanks Marc. Do I need to use Timesheet feature of 2007 in order to
build the cube data? I'd like to know if I can produce such Report
(resource vacation days) from Data Analysis without using Timesheet
feature.

Marc,

I can´t find a administrative time related field when building my Pivot
Table, where did you see this information?

Hi Marc

Oh, ok... stupid me.
But to end up with a nicely formatted calendar view or vacation overview
there is quite a lot of work left, I guess.

Thank you for your help,

Hi Ueli,

it depends on what the report needs to look like. You could of course create
a report using the proejct server reporting db. The information you require
is held in this database and you can format the report as required. You will
be able to find a data cataloge in the Project Server SDK.
I hope this helps
