Can I crop a picture inserted into OneNote 2007

When writing notes, I often paste pictures into the page but I don't always
want the full picture. Can I crop the picture other than by pasting it into
Word first and then back out to OneNote?

I am pretty sure you cannot. Also, you will likely get better results if
you use some other program to crop your picture than Word. If you have
Office 2003 there is the Microsoft Office Picture Manager. There are any
number of free picture editors out there.

This does beg the question: How are pictures handled in ON 07 B2TR? I
notice I do not get the option to past as an icon or text link. It always
just pastes the picture directly onto the page. How much of the picture
is really kept? Is it compressed in any way as it is pasted onto the
page? If I copy it back out of ON and paste it into, say, Photoshop will
I get the same thing I started with? If it was a JPG will it recompress
the data adding artifacts?

Not that I am thinking about storing all of my family photos only in
OneNote. But I do want to know what will happen if I find myself in a
situation where the only place I know I have a picture is in OneNote. I'm
sure this will benefit others as well.
