Can I customize the ribbon in Office 07???

Okay, I'm not loving the ribbon in Office 2007 but I know I could get used to
it if there was a way that I could customize the buttons. I'm not sure who
suggested that the menus were too hard to use or were not user friendly but
in comparison to the ribbon the menus are spectacular and I think Office
should offer users a choice to use either. You know, like how windows xp
offers users the choice to use the classic style or xp style. Anyway, if
anyone knows how to customize the ribbon to show the buttons that I use most,
I'd really appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks so much. But am I to understand that without downloading something
(and paying more than I already have on office 07 already), there is no way
that I can customize the ribbon??

There is no way to customize the ribbon without using third-party software.

As Bob mentioned, the starter set of Ribbon Customizer is free.
http://pschmid.net/office2007/ribboncustomizer/starter.php There are others
available as well, although they also cost money.

Echo S,

Does the third party software void the warranty? Is it easy to uninstall?

Thanks,
Richard

I don't think add-ins void the warranty. But I don't think Office
applications really have a warranty, do they?

Usually add-ins are not difficult to install or uninstall -- I believe these
particular add-ins have their own installers and show up in Windows Control
Panel | Add-Remove programs. (Well, I know Patrick's Ribbon Customizer does,
anyway -- I haven't tried the other software, so I couldn't say for sure
about it.)
