Can I design on background image?

I have a planimetry for all my office. I'd like to use visio to make a
computer inventory and place every pc in the appropriate room. Can I use the
background planimetry?

Almost any image can be added to a Visio drawing as a background on a
background page or layer. The only issue is what format is the picture in?
Take a look at some of the Space Planning features of Visio.
